OK so it has been a while since I wrote the blog. Thanks to Shirley for keeping it up. Here is the real story. My father got lost in Alexandria Bay and it took me two days to find him. After taking him off the little island with the two room cottage, we both had to swim to shore and the St.Lawrence river water in June is COLD COLD! Obviously just kidding. We were on an island close to Canada and Verizon texted me that my roaming charges were near $50! So I turned my phone off which meant no Internet and thus no blog from moi. Anyway what a great time we have had. The Thousand Islands is one of my top 5 places in the world and we had two absolutely gorgeous days on the water. We took the Uncle Sam boat tour out of Alex Bay and it never disappoints. We stopped at Boldt Castle and what a surprise. Over 30 years ago Shirley and I went and it was just basically ruins. Well they have refurbished it and I was blown away! You MUST go see it. The next day we went to Clayton NY to the Antique Boat Museum and oh my what a place. I have been there before but Dad hadn't. He LOVED it AND we took a 45 minute speed boat ride in a classic wooden boat!! Wooooheee!! Today we travelled to Lake Placid NY the site of the 1980 Olympics and took a tour of the Olympic Training Center then we went to the Olympic Bobsled park. Tomorrow we are going to the town of Lake Placid and then heading for Saratoga Lake. The Strachan family spent many a summer two week vacation at Saratoga Lake. Enjoy the pics.
FROM THE DISTAFF SIDE: Us three ladies went to a movie in the afternoon, stop by Boston Market and enjoyed our banquet at Astrida's home. Izzy and Trevor joined us for the feast!
