If you read the top paragraph, the next couple of pics will...

Nice piece and elk too!

There are 3 panels in the lobby area...

Love this pic & the men's attire too!

Isn't this a great pic! Love the ladies hats too!

The Stat Game Lodge, circa 1927...

Custer Lumber Company & several cool vehicles as well...

Doesn't quite measure up to the Gold Discovery Day's Parade here in...

Wow...

These two safes were discovered hidden in a dark corner, cleaned up...

They weigh about 4,000 lbs each and were originally delivered from Detroit...

Can you imagine wagoning them here from Buffalo Gap for $40.30?? 4,000...

A few days ago Marcie, Larry & I went to the newly renovated Custer County Courthouse for an art exhibit Open House. In an earlier post I shared some of the works on display and briefly mentioned that in addition to those works there are many prints adorning the walls of the Courthouse. We found them very interesting, perhaps due to the fact that we've spent the last 8 summers here. But I'm hoping you guys will enjoy seeing what the area 'looked like' way back when as well. Larry & I have always enjoyed visiting museums, and checking out the 'old pics' of the local area is always pretty cool. It always amazes me that there were cameras around in 'the day' to even capture these people & scenes. Anyway, hope you enjoy and have a wonderful day!
