The first order of the day was church at Castle Rock. The second was a stop at the visitors center there, they had the most beautiful flowers. The third was a stop at a local restaurant which was a bad experience.
With all that behind us we head east down 504 toward Mt. St. Helens. On the way we came upon Bigfoot, and I didn't believe that he was real!!!! Ha. Karen liked him anyway.
The visitor center at Mt. St. Helens was very interesting with 2 movies to watch that made it easier to get your mind around it. With the landslide and the ash and the eruption, in less than 10 minutes, 23 square miles of forest was destroyed. The area had been evacuated but 57 people were killed including an old fart named Harry Truman who was too stubborn to leave even if it killed him, and it did.
