We left Valdez on the 10th, our route took us up Hwy 4 to Hwy 1 (which is the Tok Cutoff Road). Leaving Tok we took Hwy 2 (which is the Alcan Hwy), that we took to the Canadian Border.....from there we drove up just North of Watson Lake ...where we picked up Hwy 37...also known as the Cassiar Hwy.
We hopped onto Hwy 16 & followed it to Prince George, BC. then we turned onto Hwy 97 toward the US Border. Oh.....we had to detour onto Hwy's 24 & 5 (because there was a fire near the town of Clinton).....anyways, we ended back on Hwy 97.
Now heres something, Roger & ReeAnn left the Monday before us (we left on Friday), we drove long hours into the night...a total of 2,158 miles in three days, stopping for two nights in rest stops to catch a couple of hours of sleep. We wanted to just get out of all the rain. After our 2nd night of rest, we got up...got our ourselves ready to go, pulled the truck & trailer out on the road....Pete noticed a rig beside us, the passenger was waving wildly out the window & smiling ....it was Roger & ReeAnn. Couldn't believe it....we knew we had to have passed by them at some point, they stayed in an RV Park there in Prince George (not to far from us).
We stopped in Kamloops,BC for lunch & they ended up following us to the U.S. border, we found an RV Park in Omak, Washington for our last night together...we parted ways the next morning.
