|Another bus trip, nothing too exciting here either. There was more driver commentary so it must be common for the bus drivers here to do this. We passed through Blenheim which is full of vineyards. I have never seen a vineyard so close and it was sort of cool, and I also saw more planted forests on really steep land. We passed through an Airforce base and went over some big "hills" and made it to Nelson for about 4:30.
I checked into the Nelson YHA (Youth Hosteling Assoc.), equivalent to the Canadian Hosteling International (HI Hostels), and was not overly impressed. YHA is supposed to be a top of the line hostel, but I think that ACB in Auckland was better. I got placed in a 3 bed dorm that was about the size of my bedroom at home, and there were two seniors staying in the room with me. I am beginning to understand that most people who end up in the South Pacific on a modest budget end up in hostels, but for a "Youth Hostel" there were a few too many families and children. I will stay here 3 nights, but I may move on if it gets to be too much of a hassle.
I need a watch battery, I need to start eating properly and I need to find some stuff to occupy myself in the area until the 12th of February when I can move into my spot at the orchard.
Add this song to the playlist: I am not sure about this one either.
