At first light, any moment now, we will depart the safety of Half Moon Bay marina and make another trek southward. The biggest obstacle is Point Conception. Don't know if you remember but on our journey north to Alaska we got it handed to us. We made 12 miles in 6 hours in VERY rough conditions. Predictions look good.....but the real test is getting out there. We have been in port almost 4 weeks which leads to a bit of anxiety heading back out into the Pacific. We have approximately 300 nautical miles to get to Ventura, CA. If we are up to 2 overnight passages we could be there in 2 days. We will play it by ear.
We were lucky enough to enjoy a couple of trips home while in port to take care of some business and visit family and friends and look forward to arriving with the boat/our home and stay for a short time. We anticipate having about 6 weeks to enjoy the holidays before we will get moving to Mexico and beyond.
Wish us luck....but prayers are even better! Take care.
