Today's post continues our journey from Lusk, Wyoming to Custer, South Dakota. After our lunch break we continued traveling on US 18 E to SD-89 N/US-385 N. It's wide open spaces most of the way but eventually the Black Hills pop into view and that always makes our hearts skip a beat! We love the Hills, but you already knew that, right? LOL

This mornings weather report indicated there might be a late afternoon shower or two but we were hoping it would hold off until after we arrived and got set up. We almost got our wish! We arrived in town about 3:30pm and drove straight to the RV/car wash. There were enough bugs on the front cap to start a bug farm and it's very difficult to wash the 5'er once we're parked for the summer. We spent about 45 minutes and got most of them knocked off and about that time felt our first few rain drops. Arghhhh...now we had to set up in the rain. It held off for the most part except for one 5 minute blast that sent me running inside! Larry & Onyx waited it out in the truck. Eventually we were in and had water, power, sewer and TV so all was good. Tuesday we spent a good part of the day dealing with our awnings, rugs, spinners, flag etc but we're pretty much ready to go now. Good thing. Our visitors have started to arrive!

We were scheduled to line dance this morning with our good friend Pat McFall and heard a bike arrive. It was our buddy Steve, here to greet us. While we were chatting with Steve, friends Sharon & Jay arrived on their Harley. They were out for a morning ride as well and wanted to invite us to have dinner with them this evening to celebrate their anniversary. They had no sooner departed then our buddies Brad & Bonnie, aka the Ramblin' Rangers arrived! They were in town putting up final posters for their upcoming weekend event, the Red Wall Canyon Cowboy Music Festival & Trail Ride. Wow, it was so good to see all of them!!! We sure miss them during the winter months. Not their snow & crummy weather, just them, LOL!

Anyway, we've arrived and life is good. We're ready to get into the swing of things and I guess that will all start now. So keep checking back, should have some interesting things to post and hopefully some good pics too! You know I'll be taking plenty of them...
