Our last night in New York (and of our whole trip) was really good. We went to the Half Price Ticket Booth in Times Square during the day and got tickets for the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. It was fantastic, we really enjoyed it. It starred John Lithgow from Third Rock From The Sun who was brilliant. The story is about two men who swindle rich women out of large amounts of money, and it had a great twist in the end.
Afterwards we went to the Empire State Building. We were taken up in a lift to the 86th floor, the highest point the public cam reach in New York, where there's a great view of the entire city. It was beautiful all lit up and we could see for miles. It was a lovely thing to do on our last night.
We had a late flight on Wednesday so we wandered around Central Park in the morning and went for lunch in Greenwich Village.
New York was a good place to finish our trip and was an interesting city. It was very busy and dirtier than we imagined but had a lot more history than the cities in Australia and New Zealand, and some lovely architecture.
