Meo was back at work today, so we were on our own.....we had so much fun at the cooking school in China, that we decided to do it again here in Chiang Mai. We were picked up at the hotel and transported to the downtown office of the Thai Cookery School where we waited for all of the participants to arrive......one gentleman from Switzerland was on day four of a five day program. Once all of us had arrived, we were each given an ingredient that we were to pick up from the market and then we all were driven to the market where we told about the qualities of the ingredients we were to pick up and what to look for in getting "the best" ingredients. After picking up our ingredients we were driven to a subdivision on the outskirts of Chiang Mai where the cooking school was located and the same as in China, we all cooked individual servings of six different dishes........fried big noodles with pork and soy sauce, steamed fish in banana leaves (with red curry paste), yellow curry with chicken, chicken with cashew nuts, spicy prawn salad and bananas in coconut milk.......the flavours were amazing, the curries spicy and delicious, everything tasted fabulous. We finished our cooking lesson by about 3:30 p.m. and returned to our hotel. We were so stuffed from our day of cooking and eating that an evening meal was definitely out of the question so instead we walked thru the Chiang Mai night market and stopped for a coffee before turning in for the night.......
