Hyder Church

Karen at Salmon Glacier

Marmot

It has been several days since I’ve had internet service but as we leave Hyder I hope to stop and post the last 5 days on this journal. This campground has wifi but you have to literally be standing within 10 feet of their antenna or you don’t get a signal. Kind of funny really, but they can advertise they have wifi, Ha. We went to church this morning, the church was right next door to our RV park. The preacher was one of the park rangers at the bear viewing boardwalk. Small town. I grilled out for lunch and then we left up the Salmon Glacier road to see the glacier. It was about 20 miles of mostly unpaved road up past some present day gold mines. It was a spectacular drive . This area has made it to the top of our “most scenic” list topping Valdez and the most beautiful in our book. We stopped by to see the bears fishing on the way back but were a little disappointed that we didn’t see any after waiting around for a couple of hours. That’s alright, we were able to see them the last two nights. Back to the motor home to get ready to leave Hyder in the morning.
