Anchorage is beautifully situated on Cook Inlet and surrounded by the Chugach Mountains. The town provided a free shuttle into town to see their restaurants and the town which we did after our excursion to Portage Glacier and the Alaskan Wildlife Conservation Center. The later is a refuge for injured animals and is partially supported by the cruise industry. We were in for a treat at this small wildlife center, we saw an eagle injured by shotgun 25 years ago who is a permanent resident of the center as it can not fly any longer. We also saw this time for real, bears, other types of birds, musk oxen, Caribou, bison and moose. We also went to the glacier aboard the mv Ptarmigan, with narration by the US Forest Service. We did not have time to shop but enjoyed the wildlife refuge and the cruise to the glacier very much. Another nice day in Alaska with sun and temperatures around 58 degrees.

Once back on ship we watched part of two movies..."The Dressmaker" with Kate Winslet and "Burnt" with Bradley Cooper. There was no show tonight, just the movie The Dressmaker in the theater. Of the tow I think "Burnt" was the better movie.
