|We made it to Crescent City California after a grueling 60 mile drive from Trinidad, that took a whole hour driving thru Large trees and along a beautiful coastline. Crescent City is a small coastal community located in the far northwest corner of California close to the Oregon border. The biggest problem we have had here is the fog! We are hoping the fog lifts next week as we head north. We took a very neat hike on our first day here to "Hidden Beach" a very picturesque beach that is about 13 miles south of here and requires about a 2 1/2 mile round trip hike to visit. Unfortunately the fog did not lift, but the pictures will offer some idea of what it looks like. Today we went inland to visit "Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park" and to take a couple of short hikes among the big trees. We visited "Stout Grove" a pretty magnificent grove of Redwoods. The weather was warmer and no fog! Great day!!! Tomorrow we head to Oregon and I will send a new update from there.
