Campbell's Ft. Myers/Sanibel Island Trip Feb. 2011 travel blog

Steve's high school band director. Larry Gillum and his wife, Betty.

15' quilting machine - a must have, if you have room. :)

Steve's two coconut cream pies with toasted granola crust that were entered...

Unfortunately, my pie did not win a ribbon this year. It lost...

Feb. 26 – Lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Gillum – High school band director; Visit Few More Quilt Shops

We had a very pleasant lunch with my high school band director and his wife in Cape Coral. We got caught up to date since we had last seen each other 48 years ago. We shared information about our common acquaintances.

Next, we visited one of the better quilt shops in the area and a sewing shop where I could observe and admire a 15’, manually controlled quilting machine. See photo attached. Unfortunately, we do not have enough room in our home for this monster except in our living room. :)

To fill in the photo spaces tonight, I am including photos of some baking and watercolor shots. :)

Let us know if you would like to have your e-mail addresses removed from our friends list so you will not receive our Journal entry notices in the future.

Have a great Sunday. We are heading back north to Leesburg tomorrow so this is our last Journal entry until we head north to Illinois, Pennsylvania and Maine this May.
