Last shot from the Cam-plex, we enjoyed this stop...

Tuesday we crossed the Wyoming border to beautiful weather & clear skies. It was an uneventful drive which is what we were actually hoping for. This was our first tow since the truck repairs & all went well. We arrived at Rocky Mtn Cummin's & got settled in for the night. At 7:10am there was a knock at the door & they let us know they were ready to check out our generator. Four hours later they informed us that we needed a new ignition coil. Estimate $800+. So, we passed for now. We've not used this generator more than 50 hours in the last 6 years so decided we could live without it for a few more months. We were pretty disappointed though, as we thought we might do a bit of boon docking over the next several weeks. And we're also not quite sure that the diagnosis was correct. The generator actually starts & runs, just dies out under a load. In our 'unexpert opinion' it shouldn't start at all if it needed an ignition coil. Anyway, we're going to pursue it further later. But, we're bummed.

On the plus side, we enjoyed seeing the energy equipment on the Cam-Plex property this morning after a delicious breakfast at Perkin's restaurant. We also made a quick stop a Wally World while waiting for a call from the service department. And fueled up the truck. We had just finished when they called to say we could come back for our home. We were back on the road by 12:30pm, but not 30 miles down the road, we were flagged over by a young lady on I-90 West. She let us know we were pouring out black smoke. A quick call to McKie Ford in Rapid where we had our truck work done indicated that when we fueled we might have gotten some bad diesel. So, we need to run some Cetane through this tank of diesel to see if it clears the issue. If not we'll be stopping at a Ford dealership this side of Billings, Mt.

To further complicate matters, we heard a strange sound coming from our right trailer wheel so we stopped at Big Horn Tire in Buffalo & had them check it out. They found a cut brake line to one of the wheels. The other three were working fine & we think we might have lost the fourth one when we had the blowout in Florida last November. An hour later we were back on the road, hooray! By that time it was too late to view the museum & the Occidental Hotel we'd planned to visit today. So, we'll catch it either tomorrow or Thursday. We plan to take the 14-14A loop in the Big Horns one of those two days also, just not sure which we'll do tomorrow. Anyway, for now we're at Deer Park, a lovely RV park with plenty of trees, turkeys and of course deer! We're happy to settle in for a couple of days. I think I need a drink, lol!
