Sorry it's been awhile since my last post. We seem to keep busy & I find when I want to put up a few quick pics I use Facebook. I try not to be on FB too much as you can lose a couple of hours a day so easily trying to keep up with everyone's news. I have to admit that it is a good way to keep up with niece's, nephew's, cousins & friends without having to spend hours on the phone. We've noticed that none of them like to talk on the phone anymore as they all use text these days. Ahhhh, technology. Time marches on I suppose. I'm still using a phone that is just that, a phone. Lare on the other hand is totally in love with his smartphone. I think he likes 'her' more than me, lol!

Anyway, a week or so ago we went up to Brad & Bonnie's for a cookout. There were a few other folks there, all musicians, so after dinner they played a bit. Bonnie is lending me the guitar she learned to play on for the next year. How cool is that? She & Brad fixed me up with a tuner, pick, strap, case & instructional materials. I am expected to know at least a few songs when we return next summer, especially Happy Birthday. My birthday was September 3rd & Brad's the 6th so we had a joint cake with 4 candles each to blow out. If we'd tried to put the correct amount for both of our combined years we'd have burned their beautiful deck & maybe the house down! It was a fun evening spent with good friends.

We had another birthday here at the campground on September 9th. Marcie (the owner of our campground) celebrated her special day with out-of-town family and hubby Paul. We were invited over for cake & ice cream that evening & enjoyed sitting outside on their deck by the fire pit. We've had a fire ban here in the Hills all summer & have really missed our campfires. Hopefully there will be more rain next year, they sure need it. We did get a light shower last night but not near enough. The temperature was down in the low 30's a couple of nights in a row so fall is beginning to move in.

Sunday we got home from church, had a bite to eat & loaded up the boat for a couple of hours of fishing. Dick & Lou brought their boat along as well. We hadn't fished Center Lake this year & we really enjoyed it. The fish were biting & I caught 4 rainbow trout. The other three caught zip. They had a few bites but didn't land them. It was so beautiful out there, nice & serene. We only saw a couple of other folks fishing off the shore. When we were taking out a couple arrived with a canoe. They had fly-fished the previous evening & said he landed 60 fish in about two hours. Oh my, now that's good fishing! Guess we know where you'll be fishing on your next visit here brother!

Dick & Lou left about half an hour ago. We were sad to see them pull away but excited for them as they make their way to Yellowstone for a few days. We're actually feeling a bit of the hitch itch as well & plan to pull out next Monday. We've got things scheduled for nearly everyday between now & then & need to repack the basement during our down time. So I'm sure those days are going to fly by. We're going boating one last time in an hour or so before packing it up for awhile. We're heading west at a slow leisurely pace. We want to make sure the truck is in good shape before getting too far away from civilization. It seems to be running great so we're not really concerned but better to be safe than sorry. Anyway, I'll close for now so I can go make breakfast while Larry gets us ready for the lake. You all have a great day!

P.S. I would be remiss in not acknowledging today's date of September 11th. Do you remember waking up to the news that fateful morning? I sure do. We will never forget those that were lost and Larry & I will be praying for their families and the entire country on this day. And for all of our troops currently serving. We love & appreciate you all. God Bless America.
