Painting Trim

Painting Door Frames

Painting Doors

Izzy & Trevor came along to encourage the volunteer crew

From the Distaff Side: Jeanne & I arrived to the site of the Habitat Women Build in Rome, GA "bright eyed" & "bushy tailed" at 8 am. We were immediately put to work setting up painting work areas outside for trim, door frames and doors. We had a crew of 8 volunteers including the "to-be" homeowners. It was nice to be outdoors. A beautiful sunny day helped to facilitate the paint drying...but there were times in the afternoon we all wished for more shade. All of us worked hard and completed 95% of the painting. Unfortunately, we ran out of paint so 3 of the 15 doors still need a second coat. We had a great time painting and everyone we worked with were very friendly. We were given t-shirts, hats AND delicious pizza for lunch! A very satisfying first day for Jeanne & I on our long awaited Habitat for Humanity Women Build. We'll be back on site Saturday.
