Hope you enjoyed the ride, we sure did!

Today we took the scenic Wildlife Loop through Custer State Park. We never tire of this drive, it's so pretty & you never know what critters you'll encounter. Today's critter's included prairie dogs, deer, antelope, wild turkey, bison, burros, a marmot and, I believe, a 13-lined chipmunk. A first for us. He, or she, was very unique! We encountered a lone big bull near the Blue Bell Lodge & found a small herd further down the loop. Unfortunately, there were several vehicles already stopped on the road ahead of us & they were very rude viewer's! It was sooooo frustrating, they never moved. 45 minutes later, after most of the herd mosied out of the good viewing area, the line started crawling along. Guess they figured they were entitled to a private showing. Grrrrrrrrr....

On a happier note, we had a blast feeding the burros carrots just a bit further down the road. The colts were adorable. They are so used to tourists they practically crawl into the vehicle. The little ones are so soft they're fun to pet. All in all, a neat drive. Tomorrow we're taking the Iron Mtn Road into Keystone for a ride on the Alpine Slide. I think after being here for the past 7 summers it's about time! Don't you?? LOL See you there.....
