Roughlock Falls...

Friday evening our buddy Steve was playing music in Hill City so we headed over for a bit. The skies were awesome along the way, a bit frightening to look at though. I've never been in a hurricane/tornado but I imagine it would look something like one of today's pics. At least the beginning of a small twister? The sun actually broke through for a few minutes & we were able to enjoy the patio. Terry & Dawn and Dick & Lou were finishing dinner when we arrived so we joined their table. After an hour or so the rain started again so we decided to head for home before it really broke loose. We just made it! It poured for awhile. I know I sound like a broken record but the Hills really need the water, so I'm glad. It's really helping with the fire over near Pringle, it's about 40% contained now thanks in part to the showers.

Saturday was a beautiful day, so we decided to drive the scenic Spearfish Canyon Road. I love this drive. We enjoyed our stop at Roughlock Falls once again. I guess I could be happy going there every couple of weeks! We arrived in Spearfish in the early afternoon in time to check out their Art in the Park event. There were over 150 vendors and plenty of really neat things for sale. Most of them require considerably more room than we have so it's easy to pass them up. But boy, if I still owned a 'stick house' I'd want a bunch of it! My only purchase of the day was a tortilla warmer. I've already used it & love it. We didn't pack a lunch today so we indulged in a bloomin' onion & a funnel cake. I can hear the gasps from here, lol! I know, not a very healthy choice but it was good. And then to make matters worse, I purchased a bag of Kettle Corn to go! Love the stuff...

We arrived home in time to grill buffalo burgers for dinner (thanks Paul & Marci!) before heading down to the Frontier to hear our friends Pleasant Valley Sunday play. The weather cooperated & the skies cleared, allowing them to play outdoors on the patio. I gotta tell you, it's awesome having so many musically talented buddies in the area! We certainly enjoy all of them. We stuck around until just before 10pm, and when it started sprinkling, sprinted for the truck. We arrived home just as the skies opened wide. It was a great day. Tomorrow we plan to take the Wildlife Loop drive where you just never know what you'll encounter. Hopefully I'll get some great pics to share! Thanks for stopping by everyone, goodnight....
