Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

I missed this sign when we went to DC, but I got...

There is a ton of open farmland in this area...

And color for miles around, so pretty....

We wondered how many folks it takes to run a big spread...

Many of the homes attached to these farms looked like this...

I loved this sign! Open for business???

And this is one of the prettiest we've seen...

Here comes our setting sun...

Wow, how pretty is this!

Today was a travel day. We woke up this morning in Pennsylvania, but as the day progressed we were in Maryland, West Virginia & finally arrived in Virginia. Since we have the same destination, we traveled together with Herb & Darlene. We stopped in West Virginia for some needed supplies at the local Wal-Mart & had lunch at a Chinese buffet right in the same lot. Not too bad.

It was a long haul but a beautiful drive. Rolling hills, lots of color, many farms & horse ranches. The weather has been running in the high 50's during the day so a sweatshirt or light jacket works as long as the wind isn't blowing. Since the time change we are losing an hour of light every afternoon, I hate that part! Cuts down on our ability to see this pretty countryside when we get a late start. But it also enabled us to see a beautiful sunset tonight as we traveled to our campground!

We arrived in Louisa, Virginia, about 5:45 & basically got set-up in the dark. Very wooded, so no internet or tv here. That's ok though. After dinner we watched a bit of tivo'd stuff & hit the sack early. We're going to see Thomas Jefferson's home tomorrow which is located about 20 miles away. We'll see you there....
