|I must apologize for getting carried away with the number of photo's but this area is absolutely beautiful and I know the pictures can tell the story better than I can. Our first day we visited the quaint town of Trinidad, a small coastal town about 300 miles north of San Francisco. The coast is great to see and walking on the beach was a lot of fun and even the dogs loved it. The second day we took a fairly strenuous hike up "Fern Canyon". After driving about six miles on a narrow dirt road, we took an incredible hike up a beautiful fern filled canyon. The hike was up a stream bed and required climbing over several large fallen trees, and crossing the stream several times. After a fun filled day we grilled some Halibut we had purchased in Trinidad the previous day, which brought a perfect day to an end. Today was our last day here, we visited "Lady Bird Johnson Grove" in Redwoods National Park. The visit required about a one mile hike through another beautiful Redwood forest which was well worth the effort. Just when I thought the day was over, Ron suggested we visit Patrick's Point State Park, this visit resulted in some incredible views of the coast and another strenuous hike to some really neat cliffs over looking an incredible coast line. Tomorrow we head for Crescent City, California, about 50 miles north of here for another adventure.
