As many of you know much of our families and friends live in the path that Sandy took or is taking currently. My father and stepmother left their very low lying Freeport NY home to take refuge in Herta's granddaughter's house a mile away but still near the water. I have not had contact with them since yesterday and the power is still off. I do expect they are OK. My brother Glenn is stuck in Oregon and his home 50 feet from a river in Maryland is in question I would gather. Shirley's family in PA and NY have done OK and the storm is now racing through New England where friends are no doubt hunkering down. Are we ever glad we were finished with our coastal adventures as it was just a couple of weeks ago we were on the outer banks of NC. We had a much laid back day yesterday except for a trip to Best Buy. We looked Best Buy up on the internet and found three the closest being in Barnesville GA 13 miles away. Barnesville hosts one of the colleges our daughter Collins attended, Gordon College. So we headed off to the Best Buy to get our computer fixed and were told by our GPS lady the Best Buy was in an undeveloped field. I called and got directions except there was no way to get there. Frustrated we stopped for lunch in a local main street restaurant and asked the waitress where the Best Buy was. She laughed and said we only have dollar stores here. We searched further on the internet and found there was indeed a Best Buy BP gas station in Barnesville. Urggh! Anyway we are still at Darci and John's for another day. It is sunny but windy and cold here in Griffin GA. Enjoy the pics.
