Rain?

A long way down

It looked like it might rain this morning and the weatherman was saying the same thing.

Undeterred we headed off to the Denali visitor center to set up a shuttle tour. We decided to take the 8 hour tour.

We didn't have much hope of seeing Denali because of the clouds but were hoping to see some of the wildlife.

The park was beautiful as expected, again the pictures don't do it justice. It rained occasionally and the sun peeked through at times.

This photo is where we should have been able to see Denali if it weren't for the clouds.

We were glad that we took that ride yesterday to see the mountain. We did see caribou, sheep and toward the end of the tour a huge grizzly bear who was grazing on some blooming flowers then layed down to take a break. That made the tour worthwhile for us.

The road in and out of the park was thrilling in itself. If heights aren't your thing, this is not the ride for you. If you can see behind Karen the bottom of the cliff is waaaay down there and you are hoping the driver is awake!
