What's to say, I landed at 10:00 on Saturday night, checked into a downtown Backpackers at midnight, and was on route to the airport at 9:30 the next morning for a 12:00 flight...which I made in PLENTY of time...I'd learned my lesson in Mauritius!
However, while I was at the airport in plenty of time, but had a bit of a scare when checking in. When the agent checked my passport, it came up "Not allowed entry into Australia." You might not think that would be a problem as I was leaving, but since my return ticket from NZ was back to Australia, they had to be certain I'd actually be able to get back into Australia from New Zealand. After about 10 minutes of tense waiting, the Air NZ staff checked directly with Australian immigration, and I did indeed have a muli-entry visa with over 2.5 months remaining, and yes I could board my flight!
