As we were leaving a particularly beautiful Maine lighthouse a month ago, a couple of women stopped and asked if we were the folks that had Pennsylvania license plates. Of course not but that didn't stop a 10 minute conversation on a number of topics. One was make the State Capital at Harrisburg a MUST SEE. They made it so appealing that we actually went out of our way yesterday to see it. Amazing is not too strong an adjective. We had never seen anything like it. There is a large fountain in front of the building that flows with pink water in October to highlight breast cancer awareness month. Once inside, the rotunda was outstanding and the views from the galleries of the Senate and House were breathtaking. We add to our "on the path to the lighthouse friends" comments. Go out of your way to see State Capital building in Harrisburg PA. Just when we thought we may never see the sun again it came out while we were touring the Capital. Next we moved on to Gettysburg and will explore today. Enjoy the pics.
