|We left our rainy overnight lodging and headed into Pennsylvania. The trees are at near peak colors and were stunning. We had wished for a sunny day to make them even better but alas it rained all day. Our first stop was for lunch in Hawley PA at the Boatyard Restaurant on a picturesque lake. We met my childhood and high school best friend Frank Mooney and his wife Pat. We have been friends for so long, back to grade school days. We both played baseball and didn't get a chance to be on the same team until Junior High and then through high school where Frank was the shortstop and I was the second baseman. We were in each other's weddings and we would visit at times we were on Long Island staying with my folks. Oh the stories I could tell. I still laugh when I think back. They've moved to PA to semi retire on a golf course and are enjoying life as grandparents of soon to be four. After catching up we thought the restaurant could use our table and we went for a tour of our camper. Frank and Pat were long time boaters and could well relate to our living arrangements like living on board. We bade them farewell and headed just a bit south for a surprise visit with our step brother in law Lutz Wallach. How is this possible you say since I only have no sisters. Well my father is married to Herta who had one daughter, my step sister. Renate was married to Lutz hence my step brother in law. We have known Lutz for over 20 years, travelled with him on guy trips my father sponsored and have just been good friends. Lutz treated us to dinner and an overnight. We watched the Presidential debate with the understanding neither would make comments. It worked very well and we are still talking. It is always wonderful to see Lutz and a special treat to be with Frank and Pat too. Enjoy the pics.
