|Dunedin was not a particularly attractive town, but it did have some lovely old buildings in the town centre. Sadly this was mixed with some horrendous 70s concrete monstrosities. We stayed in a nice old hostel in a big house but unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse and it was freezing!
We drove out onto the Peninsular in the hope of seeing some seals and albatross but we had no luck and it was cold so we gave in pretty quickly! The scenery was very rugged and windswept and a short walk out to the Nuggets made the drive worthwhile.
We found a fantastic pub/microbrewery for dinner, it was packed out on a Monday night which is a real mark of quality around here since everywhere is always so quiet! The food was brilliant and the beer was refreshingly tasty. We will definately be returning there with Doug's parents.
