|Today we left for Bundi and we were all quite excited since we would be traveling on a coach with air-conditioning....which lasted for an hour into our 4 1/2 hour trip before it broke down...oh well, back to opening the windows! After what seemed like an eternity we arrived in Bundi and the driver stopped right in front of our hotel to let us off. It turned out that the conductor was, shall we say an enterprising man....he spoke with Raj, our tour leader and said "you know it will cost you about 45 rupees to take auto rickshaws from the bus stop....for 50 rupees, I can have the driver stop right in front of your hotel"...its amazing how the system (and underground economy) works here. It was now about 5:00 p.m. and with only a couple of hours of sunlight left, we didn't have much time to go see the area so we simply relaxed and freshened up for dinner. As at our previous stops, the meals were mostly vegetarian, however we had a non-vegetarian option today and we were served mutton, which in India is goat meat. It was prepared like a stew and was very tasty and Adrian, Craig and I enjoyed it. Today was Tuesday and this was Raj's "vegetarian only" day so he did not have any and Barb simply made a face...she was not interested in eating goat.
