Stealing a line from the Beatles and yes today is my 62 birthday!! I get my first Social Security check November 15th. Yes, yes and yes to that! We had another wonderful day yesterday as we strolled the historic town of Bath ME where ships were built in the 1800's and still today for the Navy. Moving on down the road to Lewiston, Maine's 2nd largest city. We found a wonderful park to explore and Shirley discoverd a Catholic Basilica that is on the National Registry of Historic Places. This Church was founded by French Canadians who had moved to Lewiston because of lumbering opportunities and wanted a Church that spoke french. It was beautiful. Then, Lisbon Falls ME for our 2nd stop in our lives to the Moxie capital of the world. Moxie is the nation's first soft drink, predating Coca Cola. It is an acquired taste. We talked with the official Moxie spokesman who we call "Mr. Moxie", bought a couple of things then off to visit a college friend who lives in Poland Springs where the water is from. Diane and her husband Marshall Moseson are both Geneseo grads as are we. Diann (Ort) was in our wedding 39 years ago and we have stayed in touch through all their travels and ours. We had a wonderful dinner (with birthday cake) and conversation with these two great people. Marshall's mother is staying with them for a time and it was sure fun getting to know Elaine as well. Their hospitality was as excellent as the meal and we camped in their large yard with a lake view. Breakfast this morning sans Marshall who had to work. Thanks to all who have given me birthday wishes. Enjoy the pics.
