|Yesterday was a sight seeing road trip around the area that encompasses Acadia National Park. These environs are right on the water all the time and this is BIG Lobstah country. We started with a stop at the Bass Point Lighthouse then an early outside lunch at high tide in Bass Harbor. My lobster roll was excellent as was Shirley's side salad. We continued our journey watching the lobster boats unload their catch at the Bernard docks. We continued into the "back country" to look at a hidden lake known as Seal Cove Pond. You needed to be a seal to find it, but it was very nice. Then onto Pretty Marsh for views of an inlet off the ocean. We continued our drive over to Northeast Harbor for a walk around this quaint New England town and marina. Heading back home, we took the auto only road along the Somes Sound, breathtaking. We stopped in Southwest Harbor to look for a lobster in the rough type place but couldn't find one, so we headed back to Bass Harbor for dinner at the same place we had lunch. Shirley had haddock and I had a full lobster. Both met with rave reviews. It was a very nice and sunny day for this activity. We got in a lot of walking and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I hope you enjoy the pics.
