Good road, interesting cloud formations

Looks like something from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"

Nice view of the mountains and clouds

Big bowl in the side of this mountain

Travel Day.

Making our way back now, and even though we've been over some of this road in the opposite direction, isn't it spectacular scenery?

Nugget City has a restaurant, laundry facilities, Internet access, gift shop, and gas station with a RV wash and licensed mechanic.

We left this morning at 7:45 AM and drove straight through without any stops. I had seen the points of interest on the way to AK. I didn't feel the need to stop again.

We arrived at 12:30 PM, about 30 minutes before our wagon master was ready for us. So I fed Socks his lunch in the coach and then I went into the café for a club sandwich and coke. They also were selling bumble-berry pie, so I had a slice a la mode. My bill was $21. That's about 2x what it should have cost. I'm looking forward to getting where prices are more reasonable.

We moved into our slot and are set up. The promised Internet access isn't. I have no cell phone access yet either. So no blog updates or email access.

Tonight we had pot luck, hosted by our wagon master. After visiting with group members, I retired to the coach and watched a little TV.
