Before we left Burlington we took the multi use path the other way and rode our bikes about 6 miles to the Winooski River and back. It was a perfect morning for biking. Cool, a bit overcast and little wind. The path had portions of woods, homes, lake and river. When we got back we hit the road. On our agenda was the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory. We took the tour and saw how they are made. Shirley bought a Teddy Bear and now we have four little friends on the trip. We stopped into another quaint little Vermont town for lunch. Vergennes was right out of a picture book of New England. We had wonderful subs and walked around. Next onto the spot of the only battle of the Revolutionary War in Vermont. The Green Mountain Boys met the British in the battle of Hubbardton. It appears from what we read the bad guys won but it wasn't long after the British surrendered. We got back on the road and were planing to spend the night in a State Park that sounded very nice but when we got there it was closed. Strange to be shut down so early. We pulled into a private campground another 20 miles down the road which is also nice. We will be heading to New Hampshire today and are looking forward to it. The leaves are just beginning to change. Enjoy the pics.
