Travels for 2017-2018 travel blog

We got underway at 0730 this morning. The weather is a bit hazy and smokie due to the fires here in Bakersfield but it is sunny and warm under the haze. It is supposed to be 80+ in Yuma today.

We headed up Tehachapi and it was very dry and brown looking. We usually go home this way in the spring, so I guess I am just used to it being green. Not today!

The traffic has been pretty light, except for the San Bernardino area. Where there is always lots of traffic.

There is nice new pavement near the Boron plant into Kramer's corner and for a few more miles down the road. What a luxury after all those years of bad road! And there is a no passing barrier too.

We did better with the rest areas today. We actually had lunch at a decent time.

We pulled into Yuma about 1530 after fueling up at the truck stop. Butch and Julie came over to meet us, and some other neighbors too.

The property looks good, and the fruit trees survived the hot summer. Butch and Julie came back over after we got set up, and brought Pizza! Yay, so we ate dinner at the picnic table outside, just like old times!

We are thankful to be off the road and parked for awhile! Thank you for all your prayers for us!
