On June 1st, we moved up higher to Panguitch Lake for a 9 day stay. We have been stair stepping up in elevation, so that when we arrive at 10,400 we'll be better acclimated. Panguitch Lake is a U.S. Forestry Campground at 8,200 elevation. There is no access to the lake from the campground or trails to hike. The level of the lake is way down due to drought. The lake is well known as a great fishing spot. During our stay they had a free fishing day and you could have walked across the lake on all boats. We drove all the way around the lake near sunset on night.
