Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

Larry snapped this pic as we arrived in Alabama, good job honey!

This one too, love the birds...

This was one loooooong tunnel!

First time in Mississippi since we've been on the road...

Very nice Visitor Center, we didn't stop but many did...

We saw alot of this...

Would like to have fished awhile myself, really blue water...

I-10, very green all the way, as you can see, dark clouds...

After leaving Destin, we traveled west on I-10 as we made our way across the Florida state line into Alabama. I rode in the 5'er, well actually laid on the bed in the 5'er, for this portion of our trip. I had a walkie-talkie & my phone nearby but we didn't travel far that day. The only reason we moved at all was our campsite was already booked for the long holiday weekend, as was every other spot in the state park.

It didn't take long before we arrived at the Hilltop Rv Park in Robertsdale where we camped for the next couple of nights. As I mentioned before, folks there were so nice, we'd sure like to come back. Think it would be a nice spot to winter if we weren't with family in Nevada.

Friday we continued our move west on I-10 traveling straight through the entire state of Mississippi. Not our original itinerary but necessary as time is really marching on. We arrived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana late in the day & a light rain was coming down. We decided to dry camp at Sam's Club for the night as we wanted to get an early start in the morning anyway. As it turned out we didn't travel far on Saturday either, but more on that later. I'm going to do a separate post on that days events as I'm trying not to overwhelm you with too many photos every single post! Geez, it's hard, I love to take pics, lol!
