This journal entry marks the beginning of a new chapter for us. Effective August 31st at midnight Larry sold his company. He's left it in the capable hands of Tom Harris Cellular. Remember back in June Maureen tried to make our anniversary cell phone/computer free - the beginning of the deal to sell happened at the same time so that's why it wasn't so successful!

We had been talking about a new roof for the cottage so we decided rather quickly to get it done. The roof is a steel roof that looks like cedar shingles and has a lifetime warranty including leakage. The guys were able to start September 1 (they worked from 9:30am to 8pm) and unbelievably were finished the next day (another long day - 7:15 am to 6 pm). We then decided to roof the small shed ourselves. It had been leaking and had a lovely green tarp on it. Now that was hard work. That also took us two days!

We have now returned to South Surrey for a few days then head to Bridal Falls and Vernon. We will then come back to South Surrey for a couple of weeks and in Mid-October we will head south for the winter so watch for our new and improved Retirement Journey entries!
