|The day started out with thunder, lightning and rain so we all hung around and read our books while we decided what to do. Unfortunately Don had already decided because he was under the weather and was just going to hang around. At lunch time the rest of us decided to check out the end of the lake opposite Lake Geneva and found out Williams Bay is closer to our digs. We drove thru that little village and checked out the swimming beach then headed on to Fontana. Blog reader and Decatur GA friend Renda Sullivan told us about a bar and grill on the water called Chucks and we stopped for lunch. It was a bar first and foremost but the food was surprisingly good. It was still raining when we made a Walmart stop for some necessities. We asked about a flea and farmers market in Delavan, got directions and once again were on our way. This quaint little town was the circus capital of the US. In the mid to late 1800’s there were 26 circuses headquared in this little town, including the Ringling Brothers/Barnum and Bailey Circus! When we got back Don was moving again so we hit the hot tub then it was time for dinner. Debby picked the restaurant and it was a beauty. The Bistro 220 was a converted apartment house duplex with the restaurant upstairs. The food and service were excellent. We capped the evening off by walking downtown Lake Geneva looking at all the festival lights as this was day one of their Venetian weekend. Enjoy the pics.
