Home is where we park it... travel blog

Kicking back, watching TV, laundry, catching up on the blog and packing. It has been a really nice week here in Payson. The weather could not have been more perfect, 80 during the day and 38 at night. I prefer it a little cooler at night. We certainly did some marathon motorcycle rides. Would love to visit here again.

Got on the road by 10 am headed for Usery Mountain Regional Park on the outskirts of Mesa, AZ. This park is first com first serve, no reservations with a limit of 14 days. Water and electricity, and a dump station available. All for $ per day. This time of year the park is a little slower. In fact, the park is offering pay for 1 night or more get 1 free. We had a number of sites to choose from. We really like it here and are delighted to be back.

We dumped the car and took off for an appointment for the rig at a Carefree Awning repair/sales shop. We have one awning that is tweaked a little, want to add an awning and in need of a repair to a slide out cover and tenting mechanism. Well the guy need to order parts which may take a week and he can't get to it for a week. We leave in 4 days for Yuma. We will be back here the middle of December. We will look for someone in Yuma or maybe even Quartzsite.

Next we tried to find a truck wash. The rig is absolutely filthy. The snow storm we encountered in Overgaard was the dirtiest snow I have ever seen. The park we are in absolutely will not allow any kind of vehicle cleaning. Well you would think that would not be that hard. Turns out there are a lot of mobile guys, but the park won't let them in. so we will have to wait a little longer to get the rig cleaned up.

Finally, J.C.'s laptop, a Macbook Pro, has been on the fritz for nearly a month. He had his batter replaced when we were in Colorado Springs. The battery was fine, the laptop just won't boot up. It was a simple thing, the memory board was not seated correctly.

That was enough errands for today. We headed back to the park so we could get situated and uppacked. The weather is wonderful. Sunny skies, 80 degrees, a very light breeze. Life is good.
