We toured the Eastern shore of PEI and basically saw more of the same. It is a very pretty island but not one that you really need a week to explore. One of the major positives however is that the weather is absolutely perfect. Every day is around 74 degrees, low humidity, and little to no wind. It doesn't get much better than that in my book.
We stayed at a provincial park in Bredenell that was real nice. They have big cabins for rent, a resort, RV park, two great golf courses, pool, horse back riding, etc. They put a lot of money in this park.
By the way, I intended to mention that the sales tax on everything on PEI is 15%. They also have a toll tax if you leave by the Confederation Bridge that is about $50.00 per car. You only pay when you leave.
I played golf at Dundarave. Beautiful course and no one was on it. Got around in about 2 hours. It is such a pleasure to play bent grass over the stuff we call grass in Florida.
We were up this morning at 4:00 a.m. to catch the ferry from Woods Island PEI to Caribou NS. They allow RVs and Semi's on the 6:00 am. ferry and the 11:30 p.m.ferry. The reasonable hour crossings are for cars only. It is only about a 2 hours crossing and in very calm water.
We arrived at Nova Scotia and took a 2 hour drive to our new home base in Baddeck NS. We will rest up today and then begin exploring the Cabot Trail tomorrow.
