We stopped at Bow Lake along the Icefield Highway

The icefield highway from Lake Louise to Jasper is riddled with breathtaking...

The most spectular icefield is the Columbia near Jasper, Alberta

Saw some Bighorn ewes on between Jasper and Hinton where we spent...

Elk were napping along highway 40 between Jasper & Hinton

Left Banff @ 9:30, headed to Jasper along Icefields Highway. Dramatic Rockies surrounding us as we make our way to Bow Lake and Bow Glacier and the Columbia Icefields. Snacked in Jasper AB, a nice small town with a large rail yard. In general, lots of train traffic in this part of Canada.

Herd of Mt. Sheep spotted resting on high rocks by roadway. Later stopped to photograph two majestic bull elk in velvet napping just off shoulder of road. Very exciting seeing these wild animals up close.

Staying in Hinton, AB tonight, will be heading to Dawson Creek and the beginning of the Alaska Highway tomorrow.

Beautiful weather in 60's!
