Passed over a sewer and went from lush green Ecuador into stark, dry Peru and the change was immediate and amazing.
Due to the change in itinerary we spent the next 4 nights camping on the deserted beach in Punta Sal, a resort which is in the initial stages of construction but is totally empty at the moment. And this was beautiful...
Each morning I was up to see the sun-rising over the water, have a run and swim before seeing anyone else!! Spent a morning fishing - 5 fish for me though not the best, which were then cooked for dinner later. A few on the boat hadn't got to sleep the night before after staying up drinking, so we hardly needed any bate as they fed the fish!!
Also went horse-riding (well, sat on the horse who led the way very well) along the beach, strutted my stuff and showed-off my flare for salsa dancing during a lesson given at the beach-bar and had a massive pig-roast which took all day to cook but was delicious.
Each evening ended with sitting around a camp-fire only paces back from the water's edge with a beer or two and loving it!
