Off with the old...

...very dead tyre...

...on with the new

At Jens Hotel

We left Adelaide on Tuesday morning and drove east towards the border with Victoria, planning to reach Port Fairy. After a few hours of more mind-numbing driving past brown fields we had some excitement - a blow out! Not too serious thankfully we managed to avoid ending up in a ditch. The tyre was completely shredded though so mechanical marvel (Doug) stepped in to jack up the car, whip off the old tyre, and slot on the new one! Easy! Only took about 45 minutes and was bloody exhausting, but I felt very pleased with myself having completed the job!

We had to change our plans and stop in Mount Gambier for the night, which turned out to be a good thing. We found a great hotel with all the old furnishings, it looked like an English stately home! Good cheap food too. The town itself also seemed to have some life about it, finally we have reached the real world again!
