Old Quonset Huts Left From The "American" War

We flew on Pacific Airlines, a budget carrier operating in southern Vietnam, and arrived in Danang with only a slight delay. Our bags arrived intact, why can't airlines in North America provide at least this basic level of service. The Danang airport is 30km from Hoi An, those of you old enough to remember the "American" war, will know that the famous China Beach at Danang was where American GIs were sent for R&R.

Our hotel in Hoi An sent a taxi to meet us and as we approached the driver, his face lit up in a big smile. "I met you here at the airport before", he said. What a wonderful warm greeting, it bodes well for our return to one of our favorite places in Vietnam.
