The majority of our day was spent at the Alaska Sea Life Center. Karen wanted to take the behind the scenes tour and we did. I wasn't too impressed, it was an hour long tour of the back rooms of the center. Nothing special really, oh well.
The tour of the center was quite interesting with a fair variety of sea life displayed very professionally. I sat there and watched, below the waterline, the harbor seals swimming around for an hour or more.
They had puffins, sea otters and a huge sea lion. We had a late lunch at Ray's Waterfront restaurant. Let me say this, if you come to Alaska be prepared for sticker shock at the dining out places. I had soup and salad and Karen had halibut dinner it was $77 tip included. We've been eating in a little more than usual. After lunch we drove around and checked out the city's waterfront camping, they have over 200 sites.
Then we drove over to where yesterday's race entered the timber at the foot of Mt. Marathon. It doesn't look very steep but believe me it is. There was an old fellow up above where Karen is standing, I don't know what he was trying to do, I hope it wasn't suicide. Our plan is to leave Seward tomorrow, we'll see....
