This was a very lazy day – we slept in and had breakfast at The Duncan House, our favorite breakfast spot. A purchase of Alpenglow mosquito repellent will help on all of our hikes.
Sunday worship was wonderful – the message was delivered by the gentleman who is running The Midtown Café, a place for teens in difficult situations.
After a quick stop for peaches for our cobbler, we came home and just relaxed. I worked on the CIG test and presentation and we rested. As it was raining, we prepared the peach cobbler in the RV oven.
Terry’s home is up almost to Skyline drive in a much wooded area just west of West Hill. His house, like most here, is very energy efficient – three stories, but each floor small. Ithaca, Joel, Becca, Max & JoAnn were all together for Halibut Pizza, which was absolutely delicious. Terry perfected the recipe over may tries; the sauce is pesto, then layers of feta, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses, with mushrooms and sundried tomatoes, then small halibut chunks, topped with more cheese. What a treat! Ithaca brought a lettuce salad dressed with sugar/cream/vinegar – uummm good! After pizza, we played Farkle and Joel beat us all. It was a great evening of fun. Terry is the director of the Kachemak Bay Estuarine Research Reserve and loads of fun. We couldn’t believe it was almost 11pm when we left.
