Soccer Goal With the Best View on the Planet!

The Beach at Pereybere

Mahebourg had been great, and Le Bamaboo had been so accommodating, but I still had yet to really see the beach beauty Mauritius is so famous for. After Privid confirmed my flight, I decided on the spur of the moment to catch a bus to Trou aux Biches. I called a hostel there and they had a single for two nights, and could offer me a third in their annex, so I headed off.

I arrived at the Rocksheen Villa at about 7:00 that night and was met by Sheena, a scotswoman who'd married a Mauritian years before. The accommodation was lovely and just a short walk to the beach.

I'll let the pictures do the talking, but the highlight was the 6 hour bike ride I took on my second day. I just stayed along the coast and turned down towards the water at every opportunity. I saw beautiful houses on the water, a soccer field on the water, a church on the water and a cemetary right on the water. That would be a bad way to live ... keep you house on the beach, paly a little soccer, hit church every week, and then get buried for all eternity with a kickass ocean view!!
