The best fireworks we've ever heard...story to follow!

Text and photos to follow...

New Year's Eve and we decided to take a city tour - open top double decker bus. Great until the rains came! Here are a few photos before it hit and after it hit!

The Merlion is the symbol for Singapore and is a cross between a mermaid and a lion. Things were really getting festive here as soon it would change from the year of the rooster (2005) to the year of the dog (2006). The rain was a sign of good luck and prosperity for the new year. Wa-hey!

Instead of fighting the crowds, we decided (those who were left on the tour) to have our own party on the top of the hotel's terrace. We ordered in food, got the hobbits jammin' and sat back and waited for the fireworks display. Well we heard them. Yes, the only tall building in our entire view of Singapore was unfortunately placed smack in the middle of the fireworks display. Ho hum. It sounded nice anyways.

Happy New Year everybody!

UPDATE: we are currently in Bangkok, soon to leave to Koh Tao Island to learn to dive for a week before returning to Bangkok to catch a flight to Perth on the 12th Jan.

Hope everyone is well and enjoys the photos. We will try to get more up soon!

Happy New Year!!!
