20,000 leagues under the sky, 2004- travel blog

Sign at the border, Argentina is a big country.

Tupiza and it's multicoloured hills.

The multicoloured hills.

Tupiza at dusk.

Last rays of the sun.

Off into the desert.

Strange rock formations.

View from my horse.

Eternal spring.

Oasis (and goats).

Oasis again.

Small town 3 hours from the border and therefore an easy option. Beautiful setting amongst multi-coloured desert mountains. Crossing the border was like crosing into a new world not just a neighbouring country, goodbye nice busses, hello dusty, bumpy, unpaved roads. I was persuaded to do a 7 hour horse trek and regretted it after 3 hours, but at least the photographs should be good.
