Fall along a river
Some of the colors are so brilliant
While we were in this part of the country, we wanted to check out Mesa Verde. We are trying to stay ahead of any bad weather while dragging our feet before we head to Mesa, AZ. The Mesa/Phoenix is still pretty toasty, the 90's.
In our travels we have not seen much of Native American ruins and museums. I am looking forward to learning the history of the ancients to the present.
This time of year we have been experiencing parks, campgrounds and museums closing for the season. The cold weather is coming. I have discovered fall is beautiful in every part of the country. We found a Passport America park that will do for a couple of days. As usual the price is right but the park is nothing fancy.
The ride to and from Farmington and Cortez was great as most of our exploring/sight seeing. J.C. spends a lot of time finding the back roads. He tries to make sure we make loops so we are always seeing something new and not retracing our steps. It is really great. We feel like a couple of kids exploring the world. The U.S is so big and so beautiful it takes my breath away.
