Art work heading into Gunnison

Rain is hanging and we are heading that way

We heard from campers Bill and Sharon about great fall colors on an off road drive that starts near One Mile campground and goes all the way to Gunnison, so we decided to check it out. They were absolutely right about the colors!

They also mentioned that it got a little rough near the end. That was a pretty big understatement, as it was very rough in places. The old Ranger came thru like a champ, however, seemingly no worse for the wear. It was about a 3 hour drive off road and then another 1/2 hour to get back to Rosy Lane. Great fun including the rough parts. I had it in 1st and 2nd gear low range a lot, and we found ourselves just creeping up and down numerous rather steep and rocky ascents and descents. What a hoot!! That little Ranger never ceases to amaze me.

The fall colors are at or near their peak right now in many places, and they certainly were spectacular where we were. We did our best to capture the beauty that was all around us and hope that you enjoy it.
