The Olson's Retirement RV Adventures travel blog

She thought it was cool to get so close.

They are impressive.

Just hanging out.

Angel was the star.

The 1 Golden Eagle.

The Mississippi out front.

The wetlands across the river in green.

Going into Wisconsin.

On the Carousel, she liked the fish.

Even my 80 year old sister got into it.

This whole thing was built by the original owner of the factory.

This moose is a backup, sitting in the corner.

We drove to Wabasha, with Larry's sisters, to take Ava to the National Eagle Center. It is located in downtown Wabasha, right on the banks of the Mississippi opposite a large wetland wildlife preserve on the Wisconsin side of the river. It is a very beautiful place. They have every piece of information you would want to know, plus classes on Eagles. They also have 3 live Bald Eagles and 1 Golden eagle that you can get up close to. They are something to see.

After we left there, we drove across the bridge through the wetland and over to the Town of Nelson WI. to have lunch. It also brought up Ava's states she has been in to 35.

We also stopped at Lark Wooden Toy Factory and Store. They have Games, Toys, Ice cream. The big attraction is the carousel with all hand carved creatures on it. They also have viewing windows to watch them create their creatures.

We got hit with another MN. nasty thunderstorm on the way back to Rochester. Got back to the motorhome to find our automatic awning closer worked great and no leaks inside.
